I'm Jakub. I keep my own data, and run open source wherever there's a good version.

I've never found a good reason to hand a company my photos and my mail when I don't have to. Convenience is the only argument for it, and running it myself has cost less than I expected.

This site runs on a rented VPS. There are analytics, because I'd like to know which entries people actually read, but I host Umami: no cookies, and nothing about you leaves it.

When something I need doesn't exist, or only exists as a service someone could take away, I write it myself and publish it here. It's usually small and solves one specific problem.

If any of it's useful to you, good. Copy what you like, and maybe you'll find something you didn't know you could run yourself.

The setup

• A rented VPS: this site and Stalwart for mail, behind Dokploy and Traefik. Outbound mail goes through SMTP2Go.
• At home: a Proxmox host with LXC containers, among them Forgejo and the agents' dev containers, plus Bitcoin Core, LND and the Lightning Address server.
• Between them, a tailnet managed by Headscale.
• Also mine: Listmonk for the subscription list, ntfy for notifications, Umami for analytics.
